Mongolia Strategy Center is now MongolBeat
Since I launched the daily news summaries in July, I have been pleased with the strong engagement from subscribers, the steady growth of our community, and how seamlessly the newsletter system operates. This project began as an experiment to solve my own problem of keeping up with local Mongolian news in an easy way.
The response has been overwhelmingly positive, confirming the value of these daily news summaries. As the number of subscribers continues to climb, it’s clear that there is a genuine demand for this kind of curated, translated news, and I’m excited about the future possibilities.
How the Daily News Summary Works
For those who may not know, the daily news summary is powered entirely by an AI system that I developed. Every morning, this system collects hundreds of domestic news stories from a variety of sources across Mongolia. It then prioritizes the top 40-50 stories, ensuring that only the most relevant and important news makes it to your inbox. The system automatically translates, deduplicates, and organizes these stories into easily digestible categories, saving you time and effort in staying informed.
This AI-driven approach works with remarkably well, and I’ve been continuously refining it over the past few months to include internal links, cleaner text, and better deduplication. There is significant potential for further expansion using this technique, not only in terms of the content we can offer but also in how we can tailor the news to better serve your needs. As the service evolves, I’m excited to explore these opportunities and enhance the value we provide to our subscribers.
Changing to MongolBeat
So why the change to MongolBeat? Over time, it has become clear that the demand for domestic news is the top priority among our audience. Your feedback and the high levels of engagement with our daily summaries have underscored the importance of providing timely, accurate news from within Mongolia.
The engagement levels for our daily news summaries have been incredibly encouraging. It’s clear that providing accessible, translated news fills a gap for many of you. This positive response has reinforced my belief in the value of this service and motivates me to continue refining and expanding what we offer. While I’d love to contribute more original content, time constraints limit my ability to do so. However, by leveraging the AI-driven system I developed, I can still ensure that you receive the most relevant and important updates from across the country.
With the shift to MongolBeat, we are also exploring ways to expand our offerings. By focusing on Mongolian sources, we can provide more than just news summaries. In the near future, you can expect additional resources such as unofficial law translations, news alerts, and other valuable content—all sourced from within Mongolia and curated to meet your needs. If you have any requests please contact me here.
For now, MongolBeat will remain a free service. However, as I continue to expand and improve the service, this may change. I'm considering the possibility of introducing a modest subscription plan in the future, potentially around $5 per month, to support ongoing enhancements and ensure the sustainability of the service.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement!
